Live From Japan: Kyoshiro’s Sojourn – Part 1

This just in (always wanted to say that): as some of you may know, our dear Kyoshiro has packed her bags and gone to Japan as of the 16th of Ocotber. Kindly enough and during a hasty break of going all over Shinagawa, Kamakura, Shibuya and Akihabara (doing, well, she-knows-what), she has sent me some photos from the sights, to post on the blog.

As I understand, this will be only the beginning and she will endeavor to send me more when she can. For now, feast your eyes on these!

View of Shinagawa Station and Prince Hotel, from across the road (that was where we stayed with the original group, when we went in Japan, back in March!).

Bicycles lined up in Shinagawa, under a bridge (I cannot be sure but , from where she took this picture, there should be an underground - literally - restaurant nearby).

Now, Kyoshiro wrote me that this one and the next three are from Kamakura...

...and I can only assume they are from Hasedara Temple in Kamakura, given the dress-up and...

...the amazing bamboo forest, with the temple lamps of course!

"Flying Daggers" anyone? So beautiful...

Oooooh....! Japanese crepes! Agreed, the French were ingenious in creating them but in Japan? A whole different experience, trust me. That one of the most beautiful women I saw in Japan was making crepes, is totally irrelevant!

Right, as if you didn't expect this! Akihabara: Electric Town and Otaku Mecca. Here we are!

Ah, the scent of Japan: this young lady here, given that her poster reads "Popopure Animation Studio & Maid Cafe", is safe to assume that she works as living advertisement for the place. By the way, "Aso Big City" is a huge figures and plastic model sets shop in Akiba.

The new "Mandarake"... *tears roll down eyes* Eight floors of all things Otaku, be it figures, manga, anime, hentai, you name it. If Solomon were an Otaku, this is what he would have built.

Schoolkids in central Akihabara. Ain't they cute? No idiotic comments please.

OK, now THIS I recognize. No, not the admittedly cute decoreur girl but the area, because this is where we got lost last time, trying to find the shop you see in the back, "Animate".

The latest in circulation. 'Nuff said!
